Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford, as she's more commonly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. It was not possible for the group to be an instant hit in the United States, however they did gain a fair amount of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford started a metal solo career following the band's ended in 1979. She began to take voice lessons before releasing her debut album "Out to Blood", followed by "Dancin" in the Edge. Both albums failed to have much success, and Ford disappeared out of the scene for a couple of years. The year was 1988, when Ford released her smash album "Lita". The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever were both major hit songs. Sadly, her fame was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for many decades. The album's release Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
